JAXICS Youth Committee is involved in various community activities throughout the year for which each youth volunteer is awarded community service hours.
Any child age 5 to 18 years can volunteer with ICS Youth Committee however any volunteer age 5 to 12 must be accompanied by an adult volunteer.
You do not have to be an ICS member to volunteer except at ICS Diwali event.

Being an ICS member has its own perks. ICS member youth volunteers are:

• Given priority for available volunteer opportunities

• Can apply for Youth Committee Core Leadership Positions – President, Vice-President, Secretary and Communications Director.

• Based on Number of Hours Volunteered in each year they can become eligible to receive “The President’s Volunteer Service Award” for that year.

About the Award:

The President’s Volunteer Service Award is a civil award bestowed by the President of the United States. The award was established to honor volunteers and recognize their dedication where they give hundreds of hours each year helping others. This award is granted to individuals, families and organizations located throughout the United States.

The President's Volunteer Service Award Guidelines

• Must be US Citizen or Permanent Residents .

• ICS family membership for the current year is required and must be a ICS Youth Volunteer.

• Only ICS volunteer hours will be considered for the award nomination by ICS.

• Hours from Previous year's Diwali event till the completion of 3rd quarter of the current year will be considered for the award and recipents will be announced at the Diwali Year in 4th quarter of the current year.

• ICS will recognize with PVSA awards for all age groups except Adults who will be considered for the lifetime achivement award only.

ICS YOUTH ICON Awards:

Apart from The President’s Volunteer Service Award, ICS also bestows it's exceptional youth volunteers by recongizing them with ICS YOUTH ICON Awards .

The ICS YOUTH ICON Award Guidelines

• Must be an ICS Youth Committee Volunteer.

• No ICS Membership is required for award.

• Must have at least 25 hours.

• Only ICS volunteer hours will be considered for the award nomination by ICS.

• Calendar year will be counted for the calendar year. Awards will be finalized and awarded at the India Day Celebration in the month of January of the following year.
